In these Rules of Practice,

(iv) "State party" Means a Contracting Party of a State;

(v) "Contracting organization" Means a Contracting Party to an intergovernmental organization;

(vi) "International registration" It depends on the situation, By agreement or by protocol or by both, To register a trademark;

(vii) "International application" It depends on the situation, By agreement or by protocol or by both, Application for international registration submitted;

(viii) "International applications for exclusive agreements" The office of origin of the international application is – Be bound by agreement, In countries not subject to the Protocol, Or be – It is bound by agreement, The principal administrator of a country also subject to the Protocol, Provided that all States designated by the international application are bound by the agreement (Whether or not these countries are also bound by the protocol) ;

(ix) "International application for exclusive protocol" The office of origin of the international application is – Subject to protocol, Rather than a country that is not bound by the agreement, Or be – The chief administrator of the contracting organization, Or be – It is bound by agreement, The principal administrator of a country also subject to the Protocol, As long as the international application does not name any country bound by the agreement;
